Pandemic response - Week 32

Although fall colours definitely predominate everywhere there are still a few remaining splashes of other colours in gardens here and there.

One of Bayfield’s ‘streets’ that I’ve talked about previously - owned by the village and guaranteed to remain as green spaces.

Can you see it?  In behind the fence is a little wooden chair...what a peaceful place to sit!

Like all small, rural towns and villages, Bayfield has an agriculture park.  Sadly it didn’t see any events happening in it this summer but usually it’s a hub place for the village.

“NO” I said when I saw this, even though I know why it’s there!!
I guess it could be good news though, this snow means that the arena is open with ice again, and this is what’s left after the zamboni did its cleaning sweep.

I wonder which home sees more action, the blue one higher up or the hole lower down?

With this beautiful tree in the way you can’t see much of the house behind even though it is one of my favourites in the village...but unfortunately hasn’t seen anyone at it yet this year.

After a few really windy, waves days finally a calm one and some time spent on the beach.  You never know what the waves are going to bring in, especially at this time of year!

50/50...leaves on the tree versus leaves on the ground

Very unusual...a fall/wintery sky with such a calm lake!

Only one boat left in this section of the marina.  Soon they’ll start to bring in the docks.

Calm enough for a paddle boarder today...hope they’re wearing a wetsuit!

The marina season ends at it began, with the picnic tables all piled up!

Coming back at the end of the day - hope it was a good day on the water.

This stray water shoe made its way onto the bank in this morning’s winds.

Finally, after days and days of grey and clouds we saw the sun at the end of the day.

And the glow afterwards lasted for quite a while.

You can see where the old bridge used to be, before the marina was extended to provide room for more boats.

Along the Bayfield River

Tonight there was a ‘lovely’ storm, accompanied by tornado warnings!  Tornadoes are not unknown to this part of the world at all, but to have this type of storm nearing the end of October is very unusual.  No tornadoes this time - but some great clouds!

Despite the storm, there was still a little bit of pink at sunset

Some wicked waves down at the pier today!

All the boats are now out of this section in the marina - and look what’s back...the barge used to take out the docks and pilings.

Fishing boat coming in at the end of a day’s work, and today was so calm this sailboat was going out!

Doing a little work on shoreline stability

A beautiful way to end Week 32
