I ended last week’s post with a few photos of the ice on the river and down at the pier, knowing that the weather forecast for this week included warmer temperatures, which of course is going to change things up drastically. Although the ice was thin yesterday, the river was still, basically, ice covered. I have a feeling I’m going to see some changes each day this week...
Day 1 - 8 degrees today
Split even further apart
Day 2 - 7 degrees today
Look at how much this has shrunk!
Day 3 - 15 degrees today, although overcast and quite windy so it didn’t feel nearly that warm.
Almost gone...
Day 4 - 14 degrees today but again a strong west wind made it feel quite a bit cooler
All gone - no ice left at the mouth of the river. All we need now is for the rest of the snow and ice on the piers to melt. It’s rather ugly now that it’s completely sand covered.
The ice fell off the side of the pier today.
Waiting my turn to go to the end of the pier.
I love being able to see reflections again
8th night in a row with a sunset
Oh my goodness...who knows where this spent the winter but here it is back again!
9th night in a row
10th night in a row - tonight’s was unexpected, and spectacular!
I love the way the ice looks now!
I was out doing a couple of errands when this storm cell came in from over the lake. I got lucky - drove underneath it without and rain at all but there were severe thunderstorms more inland. Thunderstorms in March are not usual!
11th night in a row
Look what I found today!
It’s a bit too early for magnolia buds actually so hopefully we don’t get another really cold snap as these are rather fragile.
Hard to believe how quickly the snow melted.
It’s not completely gone yet...
No outdoor ice rinks any longer!
12th night in a row
Here she is - the first robin!
13th night in a row
Ha, ha, ha!! Bayfield was founded in 1832 but I guess not on that particular spot!
14th night in a row
