Things settled down on Tuesday and temperatures FINALLY, were a little bit warmer!! Still not seasonal but at least I didn’t have to wear my winter coat!
Tuesday was also the day when our provincial government announced that students would not be going back to school in June and that remote learning would continue until the end of the school year. So now we know we have 6 more weeks of ‘learning from home’ but there is talk that there might be a plan put in place to allow some access into the buildings so people can get their belongings and things that were simply left there when we finished on March 13th for what normally would have been a one-week holiday! Now this is 10 weeks later - unbelievable!
A day of rain certainly did bring out the blooms!
Although I’ve never planted a tulip in my life these are actually in my gardens!
I love these colours in my friend’s garden
Finally - the magnolias that weren’t killed by frost are blooming!
We don’t have winds from the east very often, but what’s nice about them is the lovely calm lake that usually accompanies them.
A little fun...
Just happened to be looking out the window at the right time to see the fishing boat coming home
The first two in the water in the harbour - yeah!!
And the first jet-ski I’ve seen this year
It’s really hard - but can you see the kayaker in this big, big, lake?
Yeah - the park is open!! We still can’t use playground structures but no more caution tape at entrances or around benches and picnic tables.
Look at this...how many weeks has it been?
Not the best year for our magnolia trees. Slow to bud, then frost, and now windy days don’t make it easy for those that did manage to flower.
Creative idea!
Very unusual clouds at sunset tonight!
Look who came to say ‘hi’ when I was gardening today. Neighbourhood children have named him ‘Fang’
At little warm weather and these cherry trees are really starting to bloom beautifully!
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked past this little tree and just now noticed it’s actually a yellow magnolia...just starting to bloom
Physical distancing parking for sure!
First boat out in the water
Lake Trout
Two more boats in the marina but they’re slow coming...I think because many people simply can’t get here to put their boat in.
Just in
Not quite out yet, but the lilacs are loving these past two days of warmer weather
If you didn’t know the water was only about 10 degrees C you might be able to think this was somewhere in the Caribbean
